In recent years, Spain and the UK’s trade relationship has gone from strength to strength.
Rooted in a shared history and common values, Spain became the UK’s 7th largest trading partner, exchanging £66.2 billion of goods and services (an increase of 6.2% or £3.9 million).
Pallet delivery to Spain has played a big part in this trade: this year alone, the UK imported £2.4 billion worth of vegetables and fruit, plus £2.2 billion in medicinal & pharmaceutical products.
But it’s not just parcels: it’s people, too. According to Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE), 196,940 Spanish nationals were officially registered as living in the United Kingdom as of January 1, 2025. On the other side of the corridor, Spain’s immigration statistics show a large settled British community: since mid-2020, more than 225,000 Withdrawal Agreement residence cards (TIEs) have been granted to UK citizens and their family members, and by mid-2025, there were 217,076 such TIEs in force.
E-commerce is also adding momentum to pallet shipping to Spain: across the EU, online shopping participation hit record levels in 2024, and Spain is no exception. The country’s online revenue grew by 13.1% in 2024 to roughly €95.2 billion, with tens of millions of consumers buying online and more businesses selling via the web and apps.

Make sure nothing extends beyond the pallet’s footprint. Overhanging items are far more likely to be scuffed or crushed during handling and may incur extra space charges, which is especially important to consider for pallet delivery to Spain where vehicles are tightly packed.

Secure every load properly with shrink wrap, ratchet straps, rope or banding where needed, so the pallet stays stable through multiple handling points. Freight can be moved on and off vehicles several times, which is why shippers should avoid a top-heavy build. You should also test that it can tolerate repeated reloads.

Give your goods robust cushioning with materials such as bubble wrap, cardboard or polystyrene so impacts and vibration are absorbed before they reach the product.

Assume pallets may be stacked to maximise space: if stacking would damage your shipment, make this clear with prominent ‘Do Not Stack’ labelling on the outside. This way, handlers know not to add weight above – good practice whether you’re moving goods domestically or planning a pallet delivery to Spain.

Yes – if you send a pallet to Spain, it’s treated as an export from the UK and an import into the EU, so customs formalities apply on both sides.
You, or your carrier/customs agent, must complete a UK export declaration and provide the haulier with the correct paperwork: that’s the trader’s responsibility under UK guidance.
Generally, yes, but most carriers require them to be completely drained, cleaned (with no residual oil or fluids), and secured on a pallet. If your pallet delivery to Spain contains a gearbox or an engine, you will need to use a special service dedicated for these types of goods. They can’t be shipped via the services on our site. Instead, contact our team on 0871 288 5741 or email us via the contact page on our website.
